Moans and groans
She won't get in
She does want to enter
To the water bin
We strip her down
Get her all wet
Apply the soap
But she won't let
Us do her hair
Or clean her up
She likes the grime
And her cup
That is about all
Not the bath
But once we add toys
It's a blast

Her Guys and an Elephant
Two pink giraffes
These are her guys
On blue elephant
With two black eyes
Takes them everywhere
Smells just like her
She will always love
That pink and blue fur
Takes them in her crib
Won't leave one behind
Has to have all 3
She knows it in her mind
They trail with so many memories
So many distant thoughts
So many charming moments
For no price can they be bought

Her Hands
When she plays they are dirty
When she sleeps they are clean
When she eats they are nasty
Sometimes in between
Small and very pretty
They start to grow too
In the distant future
There will be big hands, two
Saver them while they're here
Hate to see them go
Her body will leave with them
It's a Shame, wouldn't you know

That Feeling You Get
That feeling you get
When you know you've done good
When you see her smile
And has done what she should
That feeling you get
When she does something bad
But instantly knows it
And fixes it, and makes you glad
That feeling you get
When she gives you a kiss
Or gives you a hug
That immediate bliss
That feeling you get
When you know you are loved
And especially by
That one that you love

Broken Tree, Broken Heart
The kids and I
We're just having fun
Taking a jump on the trampoline
One day in the sun
Having a ball
Doing some flips
The little children run
And try and do tricks
We can't even forget
The games we played
The mummy one
Is everyone's fav.
Then we all get off
To take a break
We here a snap
And thank god were okay
It was a large tree
Fell right on top
Of the bouncy fun
Just went "kerplop!"

The Tooth
Most people loose teeth
But those fall out
This one didn't
Without a doubt
Just one normal day
Taking a tub
Time to get out
And then "BUNK..BLUB"
Mom stands up worried
Her baby might not be okay
By now her mouth is bleeding
What was she suppose to say
Takes the girl and runs
Try's to fix her up
Next morning it's gone
So we get her a cup
While she's sitting there drinking
We start to search and look
Found it in her crib
Lost on the fall she took.

The First Few Minutes
I held her in my arms
Like a little doll
But then time for sleep
She hit the wall
A little newborn
So easy to break,
I can't imagine
The dedication it must take
To keep her so perfect
So pretty and nice
So tender and small
So tiny and precise
So then I put her down
Give her back to my mom
Don't want to wake her
Keep her nice and calm

The Red Bike
Last Christmas
She got the new red bike
She got right on
I thought she liked
Now she's two
Can barely ride
Leave it up to the neighbors
To take it and hide
So maybe she'll learn
To ride the red wheels
But for now, it will stay
Do we have a deal?

The Swing
In the backyard
Of an old red house
Is a small playground
The size of a mouse
Not old nor new
Still fun for the kids
But not for us
Who have to watch what they did
So she yells and screams
Until she gets her way
So we take a walk
To the old wood decay
At least it brings joy
A smile to her face
She could swing all day long
That is her place

My Girl
Toes that fill the foot prints
The best part of my day
Hair that flow through the air
A grin that fills her face
I take her in my care
The best part of my day
The smile that touches my heart
Can't get any better
Very sweet and oh so tart

Together
We hold hands
We run along
We play the games
We sing a song
Together we go
Along the path
Then take a turn
To make new tracks
Been a few bumps
Along the way
After it all
I would just like to say
I love you
Together we'll go
Don't you worry
I'll never let go

Waves
Don't be scared
I won't let you fall
Take a chance
We'll have a ball
Start with a toe
Then we'll go with more
Maybe a leg
Don't run back to shore
She's half way there
You're almost done
Just your stomach
Now wasn't that fun?
Now she won't stop
Loving the beach
Wants to go back
And wants me to teach
